A REFRESHING film

 Proverbs 17:22

King James Version

22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:

but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

What happens when a grumpy, old, afflicted English actor is cared for by a young, spirited, practical Hungarian?

Fireworks, in the beginning.

A testing of wills.

Eventually, a breaking down of barriers.

Then, appreciation.

Garnering respect for each other.

And generosity of heart.

A healing for all.

Funny, that I gathered all of these.

Just by watching a film this afternoon.

I was scanning channels, but nothing worthwhile.

Such terrible, deadening movies the world comes up with.

Till "The Carer" showed up.

Finally, a refreshing film.

Gave me lots of laughs, and ideas.

Enjoying the Shakesperean banter.

Appreciating the bard, finally.

You will enjoy the film, too.

In all its creativity, simplicity, and humor.

Very healing, for any tired heart.

After watching, SPIRIT made me write.

We became instant film reviewers.

I wanted to commit the theme, and tone, to memory.

Based on the film, healing can come from:

Laughter, for one.

Laughing at one's self.

Laughing along with others.

Being with straightforward people.

Who tell things the way they are.

Not sugar-coating things, just to please you.

Honesty about self.

You may have achieved tons.

But others have, too.

Acceptance of our mortality.

That our destination's the same.

But we can appreciate what we have right now.

Looking outside of ourselves.

We may be too caught up in our afflictions.

But we can cheer up others, too.

Enjoying the gifts GOD gave us.

The film showed a rich, and talented Shakesperean actor.

His carer was a young, spirited, aspiring actress.

Lovely music.

The young carer played a lovely piano melody in one segment.

Nothing like sweet and lively music to bring good memories.

GOD gave us heart.

He gave us His spirit.

He gave us His Son, JESUS.

The very breath we have is His.

The least we can do is be grateful.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

King James Version

18 In every thing give thanks:

for this is the will of God

in Christ Jesus concerning you.

That ought to heal, inspire, and revitalize us.
